Arizona commit remains excited

R.J. Morgan is getting closer to the time when he will be on Arizona's campus. Read on for his thoughts on his commitment, future at Arizona, and more.

Central Point (Ore.) Crater athlete R.J. Morgan approached last summer hoping to decide where he would attend college.

He achieved his goal when he committed to Arizona last June, and it was Morgan's visit to Arizona that sold him on becoming a Wildcat.

"The campus was far and away the best campus I've been to," Morgan said. "The campus was beautiful and it just felt like home.

"I love the coaches and everything about them. Coach Rodriguez is a family man who really likes football and that's what I was looking for."

Morgans appreciates the fact that the coaching staff seems genuine when it talks to him.

"Coach Rodriguez told me that he's happy I decided to become a Wildcat," Morgan said. "He said they like what they see from me and they are excited for me to get there.

"Coaches say stuff like that, but you can tell Coach Rodriguez really means it."

Morgan is ecstatic about becoming a Wildcat, but is still somewhat disappointed in how his season ended.

"Our season was average," Morgan said. "We got further than we had in the past, but we still fell short of our goals.

"I thought I played alright. I had some really good moments, but we weren't able to make enough plays in the end."

Morgan is using the disappointment of last season as motivation for next year.

"I'm doing everything possible to try and be ready to go next year," Morgan said. "The main things I'm working on are my strength and reaction time. I do a lot of reaction time drills with my team and I'm really pushing myself to get stronger.

"Whatever I can do to improve myself before getting to Arizona is what I plan on doing."
